Detroit Tiger Team Spirit Day:

Let’s help cheer on the Detroit Tigers and wear our favorite Tiger clothing.  If you do not have a Tiger shirt, that’s ok, just wear blue and orange to school tomorrow.

Student-Led Conferences:

This year our conferences are being held on November 12^th, 14^th, and 20^th. If you have not already signed up, please call our office to schedule your conference.  Last year we had 98% of our families participate in conferences and this year we are working towards reaching our goal of 100%.

End of the Day Student Changes:

We understand that there will be times you need to make different arrangements for your child as it pertains to after school dismissal.  If possible, please try to let our office know of these changes prior to 3:00 pm (2:00 pm on Thursdays).  Thank you. 

BOO- GRAMS:

Starting next week your child will be able to buy a "BOO-Gram" for $1.00 to send to a friend here at school.  The "BOO- Gram" will come with a Glo stick and the proceeds will benefit our Leader In Me process!  This Friday you will receive a "BOO-Gram" that your child will bring home.  You may choose to send it back filled out with a dollar, to your child's teacher. If you would like more "BOO-Grams"  (you will be sent two), feel free to make copies or pick extras up in the main office. We will be delivering on the 30th!  Sales will end on October 25^th

Fall School Clean Up Day:

We are looking at sprucing up our building grounds.  We would love any extra helping hands, big or small, on Tuesday, October 22^nd from 4:00-6:00pm.  We are also looking for donations of corn stalks,

 mums, or any other fall decorations that we could use outside.

PTA Fall Family Fun Night is Coming:

This year's Fall Family Fun Night will be held on Friday, October 25th from 5:00-7:30pm at Hess-Hathaway Park. There will be an opportunity to make smores’, go on a hayride, and mingle with other Beaumont families. Watch for more information coming home soon!

October PTA Meeting

Octobers PTA meeting had a huge turnout! Thanks to all that came.
There are many opportunities for parents to get involved with the school coming up. Please check the events page to see all of the fun things and also the needful things in the future. A short recap if some of the meetings events:
Popcorn Fridays are back to every week,
PTA membership drive is going on until November 7th $50 gift card to teacher that has most parent participation,
Principal McCartan gave her report and went over Franklin Covey information,
MEAP testing starts October 8th, and goes for 2 weeks, make sure sleep and good nutrition are a priority these weeks.
The teacher lighthouse team will have an environmental clean up and beautification day October 22, 2013 right after school and needs volunteers,
October 25, 2013 will be picture retake day, pictures should be coming home soon,
October 25, 2013 Fall Family Fun night at Hess-Hathaway Park 5:30-7:30pm also the final Fun run of the running club.
Mr. Cole gave a demonstration of 4th grade curriculum including common core practices, using different medias to demonstrate, expanded math form, and how students have to use why and how to explain their answers.
Mrs. Blichock (Music) also came in and explained Nutcracker Knowledge, an educational program that includes an abridged performance of the Nutcracker Ballet. She has secured tickets for all second graders and needed funding for the busses to get them there. The PTA approved her request, and also a send request to purchase recorders for use in her classroom.
Treasurer gave a report and President confirmed that the cookie dough fundraiser earned more than $4,600! Thanks for all the support.
PTA is still researching a new sound system for use at assemblies and if you have any resources to obtain a sound system please contact PTA president.
Box top contest coming soon so keep collecting those box tops!

Upcoming meeting

PTA meeting #2 will be held this coming Monday October 7th at 7 p.m. In the Beaumont library.
Please let other parents in your classroom know about the meeting and even if they can't come, they can still be members of the PTA. Meeting notes will be posted here along with other school information. The classroom with the most PTA parents will win a $50 gift card for their teacher.

Time is flying by!

Cookie dough fundraiser has closed, but there is still the opportunity to give money directly to the PTA as a fundraiser opt out.
Market day orders will be due by Saturday October 5th. They will be ready for pick up on Friday October 11th.
Also on Facebook, Give With Target is giving money to schools per each vote they get. Right now Beaumont is below most other elementary schools in the Waterford district. The contest is coming to a close and any vote is worth $1. Search Give with target on Facebook.

There are also new pickup procedures in the afternoon, which should reduce congestion in the parking lot.

We are still looking for more volunteers for Friday popcorn days. If you have a few hours on Fridays, please let us know.

Some classrooms are in need of copy parents to run copies and also help with other classroom work.
